Andrejs Fjodorovs is a great example of contemporary animal training
The male Eros van Millus saw the light of day in December 2012 in the Netherlands.
When he came to Andrejs, he probably had no idea what fame he would later become.
At the age of only 12, Andrejs received his first pigeon.
He knew very early on that animal training was his passion and at the tender age of 13 he attended a circus school in Riga (Latvia). Only two years later, at the age of 15, Andrejs got his first contract at the Latvian circus. He took the chance and went on tour for 7.5 months. At that time he performed the first shows with seven pigeons. The effort paid off for Andrejs. He remained faithful to his pigeons over the years, especially the pretty white fantails are the focus of his show to this day.
Andrejs also worked with other birds and at some point came up with the idea of including his snow-white friend Eros in the program. Eros received small parts in the show. Andrejs skilfully worked out passages with the spitz, in which he appears together with the pigeons: For example, Eros walks on his hind legs and very carefully takes a short pole from Andrejs with his mouth. A few pigeons sit on these and he carries them very carefully while continuing to walk on his hind legs. Or he lets her ride on his back.
Today Andrejs trains with about 44 pigeons and also a rooster named Daniel.
Eros, who will soon be celebrating his 10th birthday, is still performing on the shows.
The Latvian animal trainer also toured Finland in 2022 together with Circus Finlandia. The ability to communicate with his various birds delighted many visitors to the shows.
