Spitz in a poem to Lessing (1779)


 

The puppies are barking! How so much

The little dog around you!

Badger, Pug, Poodle, Spiz, Icelandic and Greyhound

Attack and run along!


What growling, Gauen, grumbling, oh and woe

Howl and ding and ding!

The puppies may bark! go

You mastiff, your gait.
